Analysis and Optimization of Massive Access to the IoT Relying on Multi-Pair Two-Way Massive MIMO Relay Systems

We investigate massive access in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) relying on multi-pair two-way amplify-and-forward (AF) relay systems using multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO). utilize approximate message passing (AMP) algorithm for joint device activity detection and channel estimation. Furthermore, we analyze achievable rates multiple pairs of active devices derive closed-form expressions both maximum-ratio combining/maximum-ratio transmission (MRC/MRT) zero-forcing reception/zero-forcing (ZFR/ZFT)-based beamforming schemes adopted at relay. Moreover, to improve sum rates, propose a low-complexity optimizing pilot length L. Our simulation results verify accuracy MRC/MRT ZFR/ZFT scenarios. Finally, proposed pilot-length optimization performs well
